New Work and Moving Forward

"Coming Together" oil on canvas 24"x 24"

"Connectivity" oil on canvas 24"x 36"

"Bucket Boy" oil on canvas 24"x 24"
"Looking Forward" oil on canvas 24"x 24"

The continuous flow of new work has a way of taking on it's own life.  So here are the latest painting from my ongoing series "body of work" from my experiences in Chicago at Crown Fountain on a hot summer day.  There are now four 48"x 60" paintings,   6 that measure 48"x 36" , 4 36"x 36" and 8 measuring 24"x 24" with plans to finish the series with two more 24"x 24".  I sold one of the 48"x 36" paintings and it is now in he home of collectors in Berlin, Germany.  I will finish this body of work soon, but will utilize elements from this work to fuel my inquiry in the production of a new series with an ey for always moving forward.

Artist Statement about my work

“Evaporation”
Water is vital for the survival of all life on earth.  My work for this show reflects upon the extensive development of cities, parking lots, highways and pavement that comes with our modern environment.  Rain and naturally occurring water evaporates from the hard paved surfaces in cities before naturally percolating into the earth and ground water supplies.  This evaporation is contributing the shortages of safe and clean drinking water.  The water bottles are a universal symbol for clean drinking water.

Panorama View of My Painting Studio

Panorama view of my studio.
I took the above photo a couple months ago, to get a broader view of my work space.  I've changed the paintings and completed two new ones so it looks a little different now.  My new studio table is tall enough for me to work standing and the shelves are great for storing supplies in easy reach.  The new table is also on wheels so I love the way I can move it from one work station to another in the studio.  I'll paste regular updates to share my newest work as it progresses.
